RedMart is a GST registered company so we are required by law to charge GST on the commission. Below is the example on how we calculate the commission value + GST according to your GST status:

A) If you are a GST registered company, we calculate the commission percentage on the selling price of the item. For example:

  • Your commission is 30% and the item is sold at $10

  • Commission paid to RedMart = $10 / 1.07 x 30% x 1.07 = $3

  • Payable to you = $10 - $3 = $7

B) If you are non-GST registered company, we will charge GST on the commission percentage on the selling price of the item

For example:

  • Your commission is 40% and the item is sold at $100

  • Commission paid to RedMart = $100 x 40% = $40

  • GST = $40 x 7% = $2.80

  • Total payable to RedMart = $40 + $2.80 = $42.80

  • Payable to you = $100 - $42.80 = $57.20
