RedMart is a GST registered company so we are required by law to charge GST on the commission. Following, a brief explanation and example on how we will calculate the commission value + GST according to your GST status:

A) If you are a GST registered company, we will calculate the commission percentage on the selling price of the item.

For example:

  • Your commission is 30% and the item you have sold, cost $10
  • Commission paid to Redmart = $10 / 1.07 x 30% x 1.07 = $3
  • Payable to you = $10 - $3 = $7

B) If you are non-GST registered company, we will charge GST on the commission percentage on the selling price of the item

For example:

  • Your commission is 40%, and the item you have sold cost $100
  • Our commission is calculated:
  • Commission paid to Redmart = $100 X 40% = $40
  • GST = $40 X 7% = $2.80
  • Total Payable to Redmart = $40 + $2.80 = $42.80
  • Payable to you = $100 - $42.80 = $57.20
